Intro: This month I am previewing a book I am working on Inspired Parenting.
Just as parents need to set up boundaries in order to keep their children safe, they also at the same time need to teach children how to develop their own wings as those boundaries lead them further and further away from the nest. Here are several tips I have found that provide structure to that wing span:
Develop routines and habits that are preformed everyday near the same time, yet also allow a little wiggle room for when unexpected opportunities arise for new experiences. People like to know what to expect, but they can also get bored of the same routine. That’s were special occasions and traditions, and scheduling in time to explore new opportunities can help keep the soul satisfied.
