Thought Number One
One Must Have Knowledge

Margaret St. Clair (1950)
wrote a short play entitled,
The Boy
Who Predicted Earth Quakes.

The premise of the play
was that Herbert,
a boy of fifteen,
could predict future events.

And yet, the catch was,
he had to have knowledge of the thing
before he could make a prediction
about it.

I am finding the same to be true,
perhaps not with predictions,
but with
belief.

We must have knowledge of something
before we make a decision as to
whether or not
we believe it is true.
