January 9th

Today I saw, ready to be used,
a new soft, creamy couch:
books to be read upon,
and thoroughly perused.

Autumn leaves and pumpkins,
M&Ms so sweet:
an olfaction, remnant reminder
of colleague Christmas treats.

Warm ahhhhhs from air vents,
warming windshield on a frigid day.
As soon as it touches,
a snowflake’s dooms day.

Hands around my mug,
warmth shoots up my arms.
Cold defeated
with warm electric charms.

Today I tasted calm
among traffic chaos.
In my car I create
a poetry salad toss.
